Two Join Next Century Technologies, Inc. Advisory
Boards
Reston, VA – January 4, 2003 – Next
Century Technologies, Inc. of Reston, Virginia announced
today that it has appointed two new members to the Company’s
International Advisory Boards, Dr. Robert J. Becker and Dr.
Shenghan Lai.
Dr. Robert J. Becker is the former Chief
of Staff for Congressman Benjamin A. Gilman (New York), the
long serving member and Chairman of the US House of
Representatives International Relations Committee. He spent
17 years with IBM in executive management positions prior to
joining Congressman Gilman on Capital Hill in Washington,
DC. Dr. Becker served as the Congressman’s Chief of Staff
from 1975 to 1985 and from 1995 to 2002. During the interim
period, he was President and CEO of two publicly traded
corporations and Chairman of his own international trading
company. Dr. Becker has an extensive career related to the
inter-workings of US government policy formation and
implementation; as a political advisor for various US
political campaigns and has built strong relationships with
government and business leaders worldwide.
Dr. Shenghan Lai, is a leading
Epidemiology Researcher with the Bloomberg School of Public
Health at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland,
Visiting Professor at the Chinese Academy of Preventive
Medicine in Beijing, China, and Visiting Professor at the
Yunnan Traditional Chinese Medicine College in Kunming,
China. Dr. Lai is world renown for his HIV/AIDS research and
joined Johns Hopkins in 1999. Prior to his present position,
Dr. Lai was Director of International Health Research and
Research Professor in the Department of Medicine at the
University of Miami. He is a consultant to AIDS programs in
China and Puerto Rico and to corporate pharmaceutical
research and development efforts. Dr. Lai received his
degrees from Peking Union Medical College in Beijing and the
Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in
Bethesda, Maryland.
